24-year-old launches gift-giving Web site

How does a psychology major end up selling gifts for a living?  Well, what better route to finding out what people want then learning about what makes them tick? Erica Mintz’ path to her new career in Unique Corporate Gifts was also paved with a 2 1/2-year stint as marketing manager with Future Electronics.

Mintz, 24, recently launched her new company with her own Web site, offering an assortment of items from luggage, humidors, jewelry boxes, champagne and chocolates, to collectors’ magazines (antiques)—ideal, she says, for a special gift.  Mintz can even come up with a magazine dated the month and year of birth of the recipient.

Or for corporate gift giving, for example, there is a selection of glass card holders with a place for your business logo, all looked after and delivered by Mintz.  As well, she can send your gifts across North America.

“A Web site can be impersonal,” says Mintz, who likes to interact with people and loves helping them select gifts.  “But it’s a good marketing tool.” And if you add your name to her customer profile list, she will remind you when gift buying occasions are approaching.

You need never forget your great aunt’s birthday again; or your boss’ anniversary. “It seems a perfect time to do this,” says Mintz, whose focus now is on the holiday season.  No more running from store to store to get just the right item for your friends and relatives.  No more hard decisions to make.  Surfing the Internet by way of Mintz’ Web site will help you cut down on your gift purchasing time.

In January, Mintz will branch out with gifts for bridal and baby showers. The new age of gift purchasing has arrived.  Unique Corporate Gifts is a www.uniquecorpgifts.com or Mintz can be reached at 514-733-4438.
